BIOGRAPHY

Soundwire are a psychedelic/alternative band based in South Wales and Bristol, UK. Their immersive, kaleidoscopic sound blends the fuzz-laden riffs of 1960s psychedelia with the driving motorik rhythms and swirling guitar–synth interplay of 1970s krautrock, alongside the reverb-soaked, hypnotic textures associated with artists such as My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Death In Vegas.

Their self-titled debut album - mixed and produced by Thighpaulsandra (Spiritualized / Coil / Hawkwind) - was met with strong critical acclaim from outlets including Drowned In Sound, Louder Than War, and Buzz Magazine. The record also received frequent BBC radio airplay, alongside support from numerous indie and alternative stations worldwide.

Soundwire’s 10-track follow-up studio album - mixed and produced by Thighpaulsandra and mastered by Ian Button (Death In Vegas) - was released in March 2025 on Sister 9 Recordings (UK) and Little Cloud Records (US). Three singles were taken from the album: Shake The Fever, released digitally on Mine Mine Mine Records, and Satellite and Degrees of Separation, both issued as 7” vinyl singles through Fuzzed-Up / Astromoon Records.

Tracks from the album have also appeared on several compilation LPs. Another Sun features on Under The Bridge, while Everything Is Real appears on Under The Bridge 2, both released by Skep Wax Records. In addition, a special remix of Degrees of Separation by Ian Button was included on Lovely Ugly, a REPEAT Records compilation highlighting leading bands and artists from South Wales.

Soundwire have performed extensively across the UK, with appearances at Bristol Harbour Festival, Swansea Fringe, and the Under The Bridge all-dayer in Bristol, and have also been regular performers at Cardiff Psych and Noise Festival and The Strange Daze Festival in Cardiff.
